Goods Unite Us Was Just Featured In Oprah’s Magazine!

A few months ago, a representative from O, The Oprah Magazine, reached out to us because they were interested in possibly including us in their March print edition. To say we were thrilled by this notion is an understatement; every entrepreneur dreams of Oprah endorsing their product for obvious reasons (have you heard of Spanx?). But the fact that we have a social mission to get corporate money out of politics made the possibility even sweeter.

Well, the March edition just hit newsstands. And we are in it!

As I sit here and write this post, I’m watching our new users (downloads) climb, checking out the real time analytics of how many people are using our app, and thinking about how many more people will now know that they can use their everyday purchases to help get corporate money out of politics. This is so cool!

Oprah’s magazine has a HUGE readership. Here are some stats (taken from their press kit):

  • 10M+ readers
  • 1 in 3 are moms
  • Most diverse audience of any major women’s magazine
  • $80K median household income

From a business perspective, this is pretty much on par with our target market, so it will be fun to see how much growth and impact comes from such an endorsement.

Of course, no Goods Unite Us blog post would be complete without a mention of our data. Turns out, O, The Oprah Magazine, is in our database and has a Campaign Finance Reform score of +36. The split is close but skews slightly blue (56% Democrat and 44% Republican).

Next time you’re in the grocery store or bookstore, snag yourself a copy of the March issue, turn to page 24, and check us out. We are one of the five “High Fives” — a handful of five things to cheer about this month.

On behalf of our entire team at Goods Unite Us, thanks Oprah!
