2020’s Top Donors

Which brands have donated most to each candidate and the PACs working on their behalf?

Donald Trump:

  1. Energy Transfer
  2. Pan Am Systems
  3. GH Palmer Associates
  4. Blackstone Group
  5. Summit Therapeutics
  6. Stephens Inc.
  7. RDV Corp
  8. Intercontinental Exchange Inc
  9. Hendricks Holding Co.
  10. Silver Lake Partners
  11. Mountaire Corp.
  12. Midland Energy

Joe Biden:

  1. Paloma Partners
  2. Euclidean Capital
  3. Soros Fund Management
  4. Simon Property Group
  5. Renaissance Technologies
  6. Marcus & Millichap
  7. Baupost Group
  8. Sequoia Capital
  9. InterSystems Corp
  10. Bain Capital
  11. Choice Hotels International
  12. Goodlands Management

Understandably, Finance, Energy, and Real Estate are overrepresented in each list because they’re some of the most profitable industries. In particular, hedge funds show up everywhere, especially on Biden’s list. This might help to account for his recent fundraising lead over Trump. And it suggests that these funds think they will do better under a Biden Presidency. Hedge funds usually deal with other businesses rather than people, which is why so many of the names on this list might seem obscure.
