Hi folks, we’ve been hard at work adding new features and expanding our data coverage. With the help of those of you who reached out after our request a few months back, we’ve added a lot of what was discussed in that blog:

• Political issues – 8 political issues (like DEI, Immigration, and Climate) are now available as part of Goods Premium

• Personalized Updates – the bedrock of this is in place and (a controllable number of) updates about brands that you follow, support, or boycott will be rolled out in the next few weeks. These will help show what the rest of the Goods community is paying attention to, what has momentum, and what needs it.

• Better Notifications – When we reference something (like this blog) in a notification, clicking on it will bring you straight to that page. This is a small thing but will make the app way more user-friendly

We’re also starting something new:

• Brand of the Week – Each week, one of our 8000 brands’ political issues will be made available to the whole community for free, which you can find in the app menu

• It goes without saying, we’d prefer to make the issue data free at all times but things like servers, developers, and researchers cost money. Since the issue data is more expensive to get, we’ve tweaked the free:paid ratio to effectively pay for the data while still maximizing the total available information. So, if you’ve paid for Premium, that wasn’t a waste. If you haven’t, you’re not being left out in the cold. As always, let us know what you think!

 

What’s next:

• Easier login – we already use Google authentication for logins so we’ll be converting to one-click sign in

• Easier sharing – The more people there are who use the app, the more consumer power there is to push companies to stop playing politics with our money. Additionally, above a certain number of users, we can reduce the number of ads

• Home screen facelift – Instead of just the company list, the app will show relevant information like the most searched brands, most boycotted, most weekly momentum, etc. This is already designed so expect it before the end of the Summer
• Self assessment quiz – One of our most requested features – this will be expanded and you’ll be able to retake it whenever you want. (As a reminder, we collect none of this info. It’s purely educational for you as the user)
